In short
- We use one essential cookie, which remembers your cookie choice.
- We don't use analytics, advertising pixels or third-party embeds today.
- Optional cookies stay off unless you switch them on, and you can change your choice at any time.
1.Introduction
This policy explains how Anthrasec Limited uses cookies and similar technologies on anthrasec.com (“the website”). It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
It reflects the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR, and guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
3.Cookies on our website
Our website currently sets one cookie, which remembers the choice you make in our cookie banner. It is strictly necessary, so it doesn't need consent. We don't use any analytics, preference or marketing cookies today.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Category | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| anthrasec_consent | Anthrasec (first-party) | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask on every visit, and which version of this policy you agreed to | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
| Optional category | Used on our website today? |
|---|---|
| Analytics | No. We don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool |
| Preferences | No |
| Marketing | No. No advertising pixels or tracking tags |
| Third-party embeds | No. We don't embed videos, maps, chat widgets or social media feeds |
4.Your choices and our cookie banner
When you first visit our website, a banner lets you:
- Accept all optional cookies
- Reject all optional cookies, just as easily
- Manage preferences to switch analytics, preferences and marketing cookies on or off individually
Optional categories are off until you switch them on. Each shows exactly which tools use it, which is currently none. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We ask again every 6 months, or sooner if we change the cookies we use.
To show we respect your choice, we keep an anonymous record of each decision: a random identifier created in your browser, the choices you made, the policy version and the date. It doesn't include your IP address or anything that identifies you, and we keep it for up to 2 years.
5.How our website works without cookies
- Fonts and images are served from our own website, not from third-party services, so your visit isn't shared with font or image providers.
- Site search runs entirely in your browser. What you type isn't sent to us, stored or remembered after you close it.
- Forms (enquiries, meeting bookings, newsletter and job applications) send your answers directly to us only when you submit them. See our privacy policy for what we collect and why.
- Server logs: like all websites, our servers automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the site secure and working. This doesn't use cookies and is covered in our privacy policy.
6.Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, including our social media profiles (Instagram, LinkedIn and X), Google Maps for directions to our office, and sources we cite. These sites are only contacted if you click the link, and they may then set their own cookies. We don't control them, so please check their cookie and privacy policies.
7.If we add optional cookies in future
If we decide to use cookies that aren't strictly necessary, for example to understand how our website is used, we will:
- update this policy first, listing each cookie, who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts
- ask for your consent again before any non-essential cookie is set
- make rejecting cookies as easy as accepting them, and let you choose by category
- let you change your mind at any time from a link in our website footer
8.Client portals and service tools
If we provide you with a client portal, dashboard or reporting tool as part of a service, it may use strictly necessary cookies for secure sign-in and session timeouts. These are explained in your service agreement and the tool itself.
9.Controlling cookies in your browser
You can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
For more about cookies, visit the ICO's guide to cookies.
10.Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of all optional cookies and record that choice for you, without showing the banner. You can still change your choices in Cookie settings. There is no agreed standard for Do Not Track, but as we don't track visitors, it has nothing to switch off.
11.Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy whenever the technologies on our website change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
